About The Reiki Alliance

Who are we?

The Reiki Alliance is an international community of Reiki Masters of the Usui System of Reiki Healing ­ Usui Shiki Ryoho. We teach and practice the Usui System of Reiki by maintaining the time-honored form passed through the direct spiritual lineage of Mikao Usui, Chujiro Hayashi, Hawayo Takata, and Phyllis Lei Furumoto.

After meeting in 1982, a group of masters gathered the following year in British Columbia, Canada to create The Reiki Alliance and acknowledge Takata¹s granddaughter, Phyllis Lei Furumoto, as her successor.

Since 1983 we have met annually to explore our path of mastery. We have grown from twenty members at our founding meeting to a current membership of more than 700 representing forty-five countries.

What is our mission?

The mission of The Reiki Alliance is to honor and practice Reiki, acknowledge the spiritual lineage, support one another and deepen our experience as masters and teachers, and help steward the Usui System of Reiki Healing.

What is our commitment?

We are dedicated to the quality and depth of Reiki. Our practice and teaching represents many years of direct experience, apprenticeship and learning, and a lifelong commitment with our initiating master.

We aspire to live our mastery by realizing the spiritual precepts of Reiki in our daily lives, practicing Reiki by giving and receiving treatments, continuing our professional training, and pursuing our ongoing personal and spiritual growth. We choose to be a part of a community of Reiki Masters because we wish to explore the path of mastery, not only as individuals, but also as part of a larger entity. As a community we share professional standards and a code of ethics.
